As a Manifestation Coach, I get this question a lot: “Why does manifestation take so long?” Other similar questions I receive include: “Why can’t I have what I want now?” or “How do I know WHEN my manifestation will occur?”
There may be a few reasons why you feel you need to wait so long for your manifestation to come into physical form. I encourage you to read these reasons and then really sit with them. Meditate on them. Sleep with them. Figure out which one calls to you most.

I am now going to discuss the reasons why you feel the pressure of time around your manifestation goal.
1. Scarcity Mindset
Many people believe that scarcity refers to money. While you can absolutely have a scarcity mindset around money, you can also have a scarcity mindset around time. As women, this is built into our biology. We know that our biological clock is ticking so we naturally feel encouraged to make shit happen on a schedule. But as powerful as feminine energy is, we cannot control time.
This is where things get tricky, where the human mind starts asking “Well, who does control time?”
This metaphysical question is one that is up to your own belief protocol and one I encourage you to explore inside yourself.
Some people believe God controls time while others think time is random and subjective. I want to stress that it doesn’t matter what you believe as long as you understand that it’s not YOU who controls time or the timing of your manifestations.
Worrying about something that’s out of your control is the fastest way to anxiety. You know this, yet you do it anyways. If you’re interested in becoming the creator of your own reality, you have to first release your grip of time control. Your plate is already full, stop trying to take on more tasks.
2. Lack of Determination
If you’re not 100% committed to a manifestation occurring, you can count on it never showing up in the physical realm. The Universe gives us our deepest desires because we are determined to make them happen.
If you’re not determined to make something happen, you won’t do the inner work necessary to remove your challenges when they come up. And they will come up.
This might be news to you but manifestations don’t occur instantly. If they did you would think of a dragon and all of a sudden a dragon would show up in front of you. In the now widely ‘Memed’ words of ‘Sweet Brown’, “Ain’t nobody got time for that!”
There is a time lag for manifestations. That time lag accounts for the energetic resilience built up in your ecosystem. Resilience means “the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness,” according to google.
I first learned this word when I was studying conservation ecology in college. My professor explained that an ecosystem can handle disturbances up to a certain threshold. Once the disturbance becomes so drastic that the ecosystem can no longer function as the same ecosystem, it shifts and becomes a new ecosystem all together.
In this case, your mindset is the disturbance to the resilience of your reality ecosystem. Work on your mindset as much as you work on your makeup and watch your reality shift.
3. Release Attachment
We can’t talk about shifting thoughts into physical form without discussing attachment. Attachment is one of the hardest parts of Manifesting and if you’ve gotten this far down the article it probably has you by the balls too.
When we set our sights on a manifestation goal we have to remember our role in the manifestation process as well.It’s your job to focus on the What and Why of manifesting. What do you want, and why do you want it?
Get really clear on this and be honest with yourself. Remember the Universe does not judge our desires as right or wrong, it simply matches the energetic frequency we emit.
Is your energetic frequency at the same pace as your desires? If you’re stressing about timing then the answer is probably no.Once you’ve established your What and Why, release the Who, How and WHEN to powers larger than yourself.
Even if you don’t believe in a “Higher Power” you can still surrender your ability to control everything. If you try to control everything you will continue to experience a squished version of the magnificent abundance of The Universe.
If you continue to try to control every aspect of the manifestation process, you will limit the results to that which is in your physical control. You might feel good and look good and even act good.
But a.) who wants to just be ‘good’ and b.) you won’t be manifesting anything until you let your energy out of it’s choke hold.
In order to breathe, you have to release. Release your attachment and inhale in your new life that’s going to manifest before your eyes!
We covered a lot in this article, but now it’s time to touch on some tools you can use going forward. If you identified with more than one of the reasons above, then do all three of the exercises I’m about to outline.
Often times, we think of manifesting as a masculine practice of “making shit happen” or “hustling and grinding” to move forward. If we truly want to alter our reality, however, most of the work that needs to take place is inside of us. There’s always inner work you can be doing to level-up. How do you know when the inner work is done? In theory, it’s done when you become pure consciousness. P.S. if you reach that by simply reading this article, please cite your sources.
If you’re struggling with a scarcity mindset, ask yourself, “How is this serving me?”
Sometimes scarcity mindsets served us in a past life. I’m a strong believer in Physical Heredity or when certain survival techniques, like hoarding, served our ancestors or predecessors. In modern times, some of these techniques actually hinder our success.
If the mindset of “there’s not enough time” or “I’m running out of time” is the energy you’re putting out into the world, guess what is going to manifest! MORE reasons for you to stress about time! It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy that you need to immediately detach from.
After you’ve realized that your scarcity mindset is no longer serving your higher-self or the Best Life you want to live, hand write some abundance focused affirmation such as the ones below:
“Answers are revealed to me when I’m ready”
“There’s plenty of hours in the day to get done what I need to accomplish”
“My time is valuable and I spend it doing things that make me happy”
Can you think of any that directly relate to your human experience? If you come up with your own make sure they are positive and in the present tense.
If you’re a control freak and struggle with releasing attachment, it’s time that you get out into nature more.
If your local park is all you have access to, then start there. Ideally you would get out into the wild! Go on a day-long hike where you have to plan ahead, pack plenty of water, and protect yourself from the sun and bug bites.
This humbling experience will remind you of what little control you have in this vast universe. If you live near water, go play in the ocean or in a river! Feel the current and waves wash over your body and remind you of how powerless you are in this world.
I do this regularly to remind myself how silly it is to be attached to outcomes. I can equip myself all I want but the waves and the wilderness are still in control. I’m not in control of that and the more I fight that fact the longer it will be until my goals manifest.
If you’re struggling with a lack of determination, then it’s time to re-evaluate your motivation.
Our society’s motivation system is built around the carrot and stick method. Good things are associated with rewards (the carrot) and bad things are associated with punishment (stick). I’m not saying this motivational system is bad or good, it just is.
If you’re not determined to become a force of nature that smashes through the resilience of your ecosystem so that you can manifest a new reality, then the carrot isn’t aligned with your highest good or your deepest desires.
What is the carrot?
Write down in your journal:
What’s the motivation behind this manifestation goal?
How will this change your life for the better?
What areas of your life will be impacted most?
What is your motivation for making this happen now?
It might be that the motivation is not, in fact, associated with your highest truth but rather the desires of the people surrounding you. Those that you care about. They want this for you, but you don’t want it enough to commit through the struggle.
This lack of determination is not a reflection of your will but a reflection of insufficient motivation.
As soon as your manifestation goals, desires, and dreams are aligned with a higher purpose (and you invest in the necessary inner work to become the person that lives your Best Life), THEN you will no longer be waiting. You will see a shift!
